The Weekend in rewind...

This weekend we got another quote for finishing up the painting in the house. We had two previous quotes, one was $1100 and the other was $900. We decided to paint ourselves because that was just to do the living room and entry way(I think the tall ceiling raised the price lol). Well someone from the gym recommended someone his company uses and so on Saturday they came to give us their price which was FANTASTIC!!! So they are painting the living room, entry way, hall, our bedroom and bathroom for $600!! They stayed and did the hall and our bedroom and did a great job. The edging is great and they were quick and efficient. They are coming back on Saturday to do the bathroom, living room and entry way. We also started tiling behind the stove. It started off just like a wall papering project we did back at Westwick(our first home) which almost landed us in divorce court hahahaha(jk) but we quickly worked it out and it is coming along nicely. We also hung a new chandelier in the entry way. It is so pretty. It is Tiffany style and really jazzes it up. I also got curtains for the dining room and some accessories. I love the thought of actually decorating my house before I move!

We went to the pool today. It is almost a daily occurance and we are going to continue to work on the tiling tonight. Things at the gym are good. I work 2-4 hours but start at 5 in the morning so that I get home early in the day. Things are good at Paul's work.

We saw Kung Fu Panda(I might have mentioned it already) which was hilarious. I have also read the new 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Battle of the Labrynth', I also read Cecilia Ahern's 'If you could see me now'(I might have mentioned this previously too, I can't remember) which was awesome, I love it. I am now going to start 'The Host' by Stephanie Meyer. Oh! And I just read 'Double or Die' from the young James Bond series which was super good too. We have also got into watching the TV series '24'. We rented the first and second seasons and have watched those over the last couple of weeks. Paul is presently watching the third season but I have to admit it is too stressful to watch! I seriously get so tensed up from watching it so I bailed on the third season. They are super good, just super tense and suspenseful!

I also came up with a new word at the gym. It is centerize. At least I don't believe it is a real word. I was telling a client to center her feet and I said centerize ane we started laughing because it isn't a word...but it sounds like one!

Ethan also launched a rocket he put together. I have to say, we were shocked at how high it went. It actually went out of sight for about 10 seconds and then came down in the woods. We are getting ready to launch a search and rescue party in about 10 minutes. It was dusk last night and no one wanted to go into the woods without long pants on. It has set off quite the fury of rocket craze. All the kids(except maybe Paige) want to earn money to buy their own rockets to build and launch.

Paul is doing good at work. It is the calm before the storm. He starts doing the profit plan in August and it will go through the end of September/middle of October. So that is our week in rewind!

The Emo Week

Okay, well Paige graduated from kindergarten this week. Matthew made it through his first year of middle school. Ethan got accepted into the accelerated program for next year and Connor's teacher had tears in her eyes saying good bye to Connor, which is amazing since he was such a challenge for her. This week has been full of lots of emotions. Heading the top of them would be the fact that Matthew turned 12 of Friday. He is only 2 inches shorter than me and was ordained a deacon today. He also earned his Faith in God award for church. I think it really hit me that in 6 short years he will be graduating from high school and heading off to college. I literally can not believe it or almost accept it. Just yesterday he was sucking his thumb and cuddling in my arms. On Thursday, he, and several friends planned and orchestrated a little pool party and I have to say it made him seem so grown up. He is leaving next week for scout camp. It will be his first time away from home(and not staying with relatives). I remember clearly when my brothers came back from scout camp and thinking to myself each time, how much older they seemed. I can still see in my minds eye, how I viewed deacons when I was a beehive and how I felt to be 12. I really felt old and mature at that young age. Matthew is responsible well beyond his years in some ways and young and still developing in his learning to be in social groups. He is still shy but is coming out of shell. I noticed at the pool party,(that included some girls) that they all quite liked him. He is handsome, if I say so myself, and has a cute boyish charm about him. He is not obnoxious(like how I used to think deacons were) but that doesn't mean he won't hit his stride later on! I truly feel like he is a blessing in our lives and that he is a very special person. He earned his Faith in God award all on his own without us constantly reminding and pushing him to do it. I watched as he diligently worked on the goals and would come to me and talk about them as he completed them. He has such a special spirit about him. All though I dread the next years ahead, I also look forward to seeing how he develops and grows and to see what kind of man he will be. I know that he will be thoughtful, humble and obedient as those are things that he was blessed with. I don't doubt that we will have our trials with him as a teenager, but I honestly believe that they will be minimal and of little consequence.(Now that is not to say that our other boys will be like that hahaha). And all though I have caught myself weeping this week in the car, the shower, and at the gym and anywhere imaginable, it is because of the shortness of the time left. There is great joy in my heart that he continues to learn and grow and that I still have another 6 years left with him. I can see the amount of potential in him and I know that he will succeed in all that he desires to do. He is truly a gift to us.
