The summer continues to pass in a blur. I spent hours upon hours cleaning the upstairs on Saturday and made huge progress. I cleaned out the spare room which is my dumping zone and went through the kids' room and the playroom. I dumped 3 big bags of garbage and one large box full of garbage. Paul left for Michigan to visit with his family. I finished re-reading the Twilight series in order to get ready for the release of the last book. I also finished reading Everyone Worth Knowing which was pretty good. My sister Amber came to visit on Sunday to Tuesday. She really hurt her foot so I dragged her to the Urgent Care against her wishes and found out it was severely sprained. We took all 8 kids to the summer movie for free and saw Alvin and the Chipmunks. The kids have been making their own home movies with the video camera and that has kept them pretty occupied for several days:) Not much else is going on!

We went and saw Journey to the Center of the Earth and I have to say we all loved it!! The fact that I screamed when the fish were poppping out is of little consequence...(ahem;) but it was super good. The kids REALLY liked it. We went swimming lots this week. Paul has really gotten back into tennis which is super good. He gets to play about twice a week(and he doesn't haven't to hear me bug him about doing exercise!)

We went to the library and the dollar show which actually turned out to be free and saw 'Everyones Hero' a cute little movie with a good message. I started reading Twilight over(pathetic, I know) and also another book by the author of the Devil Wears Prada and will let you know how it is. I think that is the latest in the Nelson household.

How Could I Forget??

We had a nice weekend. It rained off and on on Friday but we still swam and cooked out with our neighbors. The rained petered out and we were able to light off fireworks. All of the kids have turned into pyros. I took last week off from training except for my 5am and 5:30am(then I stayed and did my workout) and it was nice. I hung out with the kids all week and went swimming, went and saw Wall-E(everyone but Matthew who wasn't interested) and Paul custom made some shelves for our closet for our shoes. There is a unit on either side of the door and it goes all the way to the ceiling. I am very excited about it!(Makes me want to go buy some more shoes!) Paige got her hair cut to her chin(I will post pictures next time) and I think that is about it. OH!!! How could I forget???? I read "The Host" by Stephenie Meyer. Of course it was fabulous! I loved it! The first 100 pages as it was setting up the storyline wasn't earth shattering but once you get past the set-up, I couldn't put it down.(I finished reading it by the light of my cell phone during the movie Wall-E)

Finagaling...

I have no idea how to spell that but let me just say that Ethan is quite the haggler. We went fireworks shopping today and each of the kids brought their own money this year to buy their own that they could set off. Ethan, having just bought something last week with some money he had been saving, had the least amount to spend. $9 to be exact. He was perusing the fireworks, especially the buy one get one frees, and was talking to the stand owner. I was sort of listening as I was helping Connor pick out his and all of a sudden I hear Ethan ask "how much is that?" owner replied "that is $7.99"(Ethan had only $3 dollars left at this point) Ethan says back to owner, "how about I give you the rest of my money and we will call it even?" The owner started laughing and turned to me and said, "you got one smart kid there!" Needless to say he didn't give it to him and Ethan found something for $3.

Thats that

Well I spent a long time typing up a blog about the weekend and guess what? I tried to post it a couple of times and something was wrong with blogger. Well needless to say, I don't know where it went! So this weekend to sum up quickly went like this: The painters came and finished up. Paul worked on the tiling, we went swimming, we ate lots for our anniversary. Paul watched more of 24, I can't remember what I did already...hmmm. Ok well...thats that.
